Domestic Violence Campaign Launch

Our client, the NYC Department of Health, needed to promote its domestic violence helpline, CONNECT. They didn’t only want to target people suffering from violence, but the bystanders who know it’s happening and, for whatever reason don’t do anything about it.

  1. i think it’s great to get a domestic abuse campaign going that also brings in bystanders as they are often affected in such instances. however, why are all of these ads motivated to propel the idea that only women are victims of domestic abuse??

  2. Dear S. This campaign focused on a few key neighborhoods in brooklyn with high rates of femicide. In most cases it was found that a neighbor new of prior violent encounters, but didnt do anything about it. The campaign was aimed at getting critical neighbors involved. Though I agree their are all kinds of abuse, this campaign’s purpose was a specific focus. Perhaps their should be other campaigns that focus on other common abuse issues.
